Aircrew Training Information
If you like to fly and are interested in helping out during a Search and Rescue Missions, then Civil Air Patrol might be the place.
On a typical Search and Rescue flight we have 3 Civil Air Patrol personal on an aircraft. The Mission Pilot, Mission Observer and a Mission Scanner and/or Airborne Photographer.
The first step is to become a Mission Scanner and Photographer. Then through some additional training you then can obtain the Mission Observer qualification.
To become a Mission Pilot you must be a current FAA licensed pilot with 200 hours total time, 175 PIC and 50 Cross Country.
